Updates on chemo, surgery, lifeViews: 232

Since the last post. I finished 6 mos of chemo after surgery on October 25th 2006(my birthday) I kept asking my oncologist to do a scan to make sure I was still cancer free. He said to wait until chemo was finished.

I finally had a Petscan and Catscan done in mid November.

I then saw my surgeon on the same day for a follow up, unfortunately the news was not good. It is back. Dr. Shibata said “It is only 1 cm so we can remove that section of the liver” I was in shock. I thought I had beat this monster and I did the 6 months follow up chemo that they suggested after surgery. I couldn’t believe it was back. This time they could not do Radio-Frequency Ablation because of the scar tissue from the previous surgeries so they had to do a re-section of the liver.

I had the liver re-section done on Jan 5th and I have been recuperating at home since then. I plan to go back to work at least part-time starting Monday Feb 5th. Exactly 1 month after surgery. The surgeon doesn’t want me to go back for another month but all this time off has been without pay and with my husband carrying the load by himself I feel guilty and it will do me good to get out a little.

I go back to the surgeon on February 14th and talk to an oncologist about chemo. I swore to myself I would not do anymore but the doctor seems to think it is the only way to keep it gone.

I am going to post some pictures. They are a little grusome so if you get sick easy don’t look.
