No Results From Scans Yet-June 7 2007Views: 430

Hi all – I made it thru the MRI for my shoulder and the CT scan with no sleep the night before. I have had so much pain in my shoulder I can’t get comfortable enough to go to sleep I have only been getting maybe 2 hours of sleep every couple days and I am walking around like a zombie.
I will call tomorrow and see if they can give me some better pain pills so I can get some rest.

The surgeon Dr Shibata (my angel)at Moffitt has to read the CT and let me know something so I have been pacing and watching for the phone to ring all day. I am really worried that the scan is going to say things are worse.

His nurse Yasmin said she would have him call and I am sure he will when he gets some time I just hate the waiting. I think I will try to call tomorrow. The doctor has been really busy lately and if I have to wait thru the weekend I think I will go crazy.

It would take a miracle at this point to have a clean scan but if I did I could do a clinical trial for a vaccine for colon cancer. This would really help with the feeling of I want to do something that could lead to ending this terrible disease. I meet with the Dr. (Dr. Garrett) who is in charge of the trial on Monday.
As soon as I hear the results I will pass them on.

For anyone else out there who has colon cancer or really any cancer, I found a book on the web and ordered it and so far it is funny. It is called Cancergiggles -Mountains are Easy.
When I saw the title I just had to have it. I actually ordered it from England. The writer is Cass Brown he wrote this book based on his cancer blog. I have been writing a blog since July ‘05 when I was first diagnosed and have been thinking about doing the the same thing.

He was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2000 and he is very funny the way he deals with everything. The oncologists and surgeons are referred to as cancer Wizzards and the lab techs that draw your blood are called Vampires and chemo nurses are known as The wand wavers. Anyway he makes it seem funny when you are so sick from chemo you can’t stand it or he woke up from 1 surgery without a navel and thought he might have been cloned by an alien and it was the clone laying in the bed while the real him was out having a grand time cellabrating his new healthy life as an alien.
Anyway, you get the drift, he just has a comic spin on all the “nasties” There is a lot of english words that we don’t use in the USA or slang that they use in England that would take me a minute to figure out but it is funny.
I am getting close to the end of the book and was wondering how he is doing since this book was published in 2005.
I looked up the website the web address is http://cancergiggles.blog-city.com/ I was very disappointed to find out that the monster finally got him in Jan 2007.
His wife has her own health issues but is trying to maintain the website. I didn’t mean to write a book myself today I just kept typing. Sorry.
More soon…. Donna

Sending good thoughts to you on the MRI.

I will see if I can find the book.
