Happy Birthday To MeViews: 310

It’s past midnight so it’s officially my 44th birthday. There were definitely times when I thought I would not make it to see 44 but now I have.
I am going on my first cruise Saturday for a week. We are going to the Bahamas, St Thomas and St. Martin.
I can’t wait.
I’ll post some pictures when I get back. I am going to dinner tonight with my cancer survivor sisters. We have 12 women that met one by one in chemo and we started our own little support group. We meet for dinner once a month and share our war stories or good news we have received recently.
These are definitely my sisters. No one knows what you are going thru except for ones that have been there or are there right now. We always have these loud plastic chickens at every dinner because our motto is Cancer is not for chickens.
I am surprised we never get thrown out of restaurants because we are so loud. We are always laughing and talking so loudly.
It’s weird, every place we go people always say there is a special “aura” around us or spirit. They can always tell something special is happening. Seriously, someone has made a comment every place we have gone. Sometimes it is obvious that we must all have cancer because some of the girls have been bald at some point and decide to take their wigs off but there is always interest in what exactly is going on with us.
I find it very healing. If I am in a bad mood and I don’t really feel like going. I push myself because I know once I am around them I will feel like a million bucks. Even at the worst point during chemo when I could barely walk. I would be around them for 10 minutes and swear the cancer was gone because I felt so good.
I hope all of you find this kind of support somewhere. It truly is the best medicine.
Luv ya
Donna

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONNA! 44 HUH? WOOHOO??? GIRL! You are going to have some major fun on that cruise…and don’t forget pictures. We wanna see pictures!

Every day is a special day. I’m so glad you made it to 44. You know, last year when I was in the hospital, I honestly thought that I wouldn’t make it to my 40th year…AND HERE I AM!

We’re all a bunch of touch cookies…and Cancer? Ah, that little vermin won’t get us down. It’s already been defeated.

HUGE HUG…Grace

Happy birthday!

Relax and enjoy yourself.

I envy the cruise that you have planned. That will be wonderful. You can choose to do everything or just relax in a deck chair.

All my best wishes on your birthday.

Love

Carol

Happy Birthday !
A cruise sounds wonderful.. I know you will enjoy yourself…...

Welcome back. How was the cruise? We all want to hear the details.

I drink a lot of water as well as the Gatorade. It just makes my husband feel better. I also drink orange juice and cranberry juice. Ocean Spray has a new variety of cranberry juice that has no sugar. It’s a little different and it took me a couple of glasses to like it. But now it’s one of my favorites.
