stage4's Cancer Blog
April 17, 2008
I haven’t posted anything for a long time. I am still working on my book. It is almost ready for the publisher.
I would like to add a couple more cancer survivors stories so if you wouldn’t mind me adding your story in the book, let me know. My e-mail is donnarichno@yahoo.com
I went to Grand Cayman in early March with my husband.
We had a great time.
I will be traveling again the first week in May. Nothing real exotic this time, I am going to my sister’s in Illinois for awhile. I am also thinking about where to travel to next. In June, my husband and I will be going to Chicago to attend his daughter’s graduation with a master’s degree. In July, I will be going to my dad’s in Michigan.
Some people with cancer get to the point nothing else can be done and just throw themselves into work or family or curl up into a ball.
I just wan’t to plan one trip after the other.
With any luck, when my time comes I will be on a cruise ship with a margarita in my hand.
I am starting to have a little pain. So far it is not too bad. Everyone tells me they are surprised I am so sick because I don’t look it. I really feel pretty good considering everything looks so dire on paper.
Hope everyone is feeling great.
Donna

Donna; I have just started to review all your posts, going back to your first visit to the site, plus I looked at your photos. My god you have gone through so much and yet so positive. What an inspiration you are. I’m sure your book will be published. You have a wonderful gift of words. I have a story but it isn’t mine it is my Mom’s from the 1960’s. The only thing that might be of use are the changes that have occured in medical practices between then and now plus how much differently the support systems were. Now I am talking in Canada so this might not apply in the U.S. She always felt like a guinnea pig and was never really given any credit for her courageous fight. the surgeries were horrific and very invasive. I only wish she could be here to day to see the progess that has been made and also the progress that hasn’t. I am hopeful after seeing 60 minutes last Sunday. If you didn’t catch it go online and view it. Amazing story on Cancer and the latest possible cure to come down the pike. Take care of yourself and keep writing. Weezie from Canada eh
You go girl… will be looking forward to your book I will keep your offer in mind about my story… and there is nothing wrong with traveling as long as your up to it why not.
Take Care

Hello. I was 41 when I was diagnosed too. Can you sign my guestbook for colon cancer legislation?
Hello, 25 states have an F in colon cancer legislation. That means people under 50 have to fight to get a colonoscopy even if they are showing symptoms. This is why my diagnosis was delayed and I had full insurance coverage! Please read the message below.
Please read
Many states have an F in making their insurance companies pay for colon cancer screening. The docs are forced to tell people like me that I am too young. Then we go on thinking we’re ok for symptoms disappear for a while then we’re diagnosed with stage III or IV cancer. Please help me
Could you please sign and forward my guestbook through bulletins and email for people to sign? In the message box, type I support colon cancer laws in America. Please don’t wish me a happy birthday. :) Thanks. It is to support colon cancer laws. 13,000 people under the age of 50 are being diagnosed with colon cancer every year. Around 150,000 people total are being diagnosed every year. And 56,000 people are dying from it every year. It’s the 2nd leading cause of death in the country yet only 25 states support colon cancer screening for the unisured and the insured. My wish if for 1,000 to sign by my 43rd birthday on June 29th.A beginning to stop the pain and sorrow. You do not have to post your picture or email address. See if your state measures up on colorectal cancer legislation providing colonoscopies to all including people under 50. http://www. eifoundation. org/national/nccra/report_card/
Remember 13,000 people under 50 are being diagnosed with colon cancer every year. With colonoscopies being insured, we can cut this in half by early detection of polyps. Please sign my guestbook.

I did use part of your’s especially that funny story about you getting lost, them tearing up the parking lot, forgetting your purse and having to rush back. It was so funny to me, probably not so funny to you.
